The Gathering - Baltinglass
During 2013 Baltinglass & District Forum is putting its weight behind the various events being planned in the area for The Gathering. Forum Work Groups are organising two of them — the St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Balto Balloon Fest (21-23 June). Baltinglass stalwart Phyllis Flanagan has come up with a novel fundraiser / emblem for the Baltinglass Gathering. She has crocheted a hundred shamrocks which are mounted on cards mentioning The Gathering and the Baltinglass website, www.baltinglass.ie, and they may be sent to friends or relatives abroad as a symbol of welcome. The shamrocks may be purchased for €3 each at Egan Office Supplies or Gorrys' Pharmacy. All proceeds go towards the Forum's events funds. |

Launched in November 2010 as an initiative by the Baltinglass & District Forum, this website aims to facilitate informal communication among residents of the Baltinglass and surrounding area, along with providing information on all businesses and services offered locally.
The website is free to use and is not-for-profit, and any comments or suggestions are very welcome!

Website Features
The following is a brief guide to what this website provides:
- Discussion Forum
The Discussion Forum is free to join and is available to all residents of the Baltinglass area. Of course, people from outside Baltinglass with an interest in the area are also encouraged to join. Registered users can post messages under various categories and any other members can reply. It is a great way to interact with other people in the community - to share ideas, ask questions, discuss upcoming events, buy/sell/trade goods and services, etc.
- Baltinglass Town
This section contains information relating to the town of Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow. It features a brief history of the town, an interactive map showing historical points of interest, a calendar of upcoming event, along with a listing of local services and resources. The calendar is also linked on the main page of the website (see above right) where you can see at a glance any upcoming events for the week.
- Local Business Directory
The local business directory lists all the businesses and services available locally. Browse the menu by category to narrow down your search, and click on the business name for further details (contact details, opening hours, services offered, etc). If your business is not yet featured, please email info@baltinglasstown.com for further details.
- Clubs & Groups
This lists all the clubs and groups in the Baltinglass area. Each club/group has it's own page to share details and contact information. If your club/group is not yet featured, or if you want to amend the details currently displayed for your club/group (e.g. add photos, videos, etc), please email info@baltinglasstown.com and we will make the changes asap.
